New Pike/Bass Flies

Posted by on January 9, 2013

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Holidays have been keeping me busy with family parties, which was really nice to have some fun with a lot of family that I don’t see nearly enough.  Normally for me by mid January winter starts to feel like a case of the “mondays” and I start counting down the weeks until the ice melts, the grass turns green, and mayflies start hatching in southwest Wisconsin.  Although not much fishing for me lately I have been getting some tying done.  I’ve been working mostly on bait fish patterns and deer hair diving flies for warmwater species and here’s what I’ve come up with.

These mono “weed” guards are just stiff enough for allowing your fly to roll over logs, or bounce along a rocky bottom without snagging up.
