Haven’t had much free time to get out trout fishing, but I have been able to get out to one of my favorite local spots a couple times – Kishwaukee River. The “Kish” as my friends and I call it, is a great place to get a fix with a fly rod on some moving water without having to travel too far. The Kish’s headwaters are in my hometown – Woodstock, IL , The river flows west eventually dumping into the Rock River. Much of the lower river I’ve yet to see, but I do know that the stretch between the towns of Marengo and Cherry Valley has treated me well. There are several parks and bridges along the way for public access.
