F3T Making a Stop In Milwaukee

Posted by on February 24, 2012

This year the fly fishing film tour is making a stop at the Sprecher Brewery on the north side of Milwaukee on April 18.  Timing for this event couldn’t be much better seeing that the spring thaw usually occurs around early to mid march, with steelhead becoming active right after ice-out.  I haven’t seen the Milwaukee River in almost two months, but I’m gonna guess there isn’t much ice this year and fishing should heat up earlier than usual and last through the month of April.  This last fall some friends and I made a stop at the Sprecher Brewery after a day of fishing and took a tour of the brewery followed by some samples of tasty brew.  If you’re not a drinker or you have young ones they offer a wide variety of flavored soda that can also be sampled.  It’s marked on my calender; fishing for steelhead in the morning and an evening of fine fly fishing cinematography and beers.  See ya there!
