I had the chance to fish yesterday and despite the cold temperature and the high flows my friend Bret and I headed for the smallest tributaries which recover much quicker after a high water event than larger drainages. We were not surprised to see fisherman everywhere when we arrived, but we still found some open water and even got some steelhead to eat.
I had this little guy take my egg in the first ten minutes we were there.
The rest of the day went well. Bret landed two nice fish and I picked up one more, and this one was fat and fresh from the lake. From what I saw most anglers were having at least a little luck. It wont be long before the other tributaries are back to normal, and I would imagine they’ll be fishing well for the next few weeks.
