This weekend the weather had it out for anyone in the midwest that wanted to try and enjoy the outdoors.

I managed to put in a scattered couple hours on Saturday and Sunday as well as Memorial Day without getting rained on.

Saturday and Sunday both led to some hookups and some POWERFUL ten foot runs and the fish coming unbuttoned.

Monday however, the fish decided to keep the hook pinned.   Carp are a blast but a real pain to fish for sometimes.

As bad of reputation as these things get they are incredibly intelligent and are also everywhere which makes getting a line wet much more realistic sometimes when time is not as abundant.

This fella took a “crazy carper” fly while tailing near shore at private pond.
